Weekend in Marseille
Walk around La Defense – modern art and architecture (plus a glimpse of Neuilly sur Seine!)
This weekend we decided to walk around La Defense – a business district, which is technically not a part of Paris, but is considered to be a part of it nonetheless by non-Parisians ๐
I love this district and with my office being there, visited it almost every day. Since the pandemic hit, I’ve only been to the office once and to La Defense only a few times in total, so it was especially interesting to walk around and to take a look at how it looks now. The biggest changes are is that it is now virtually empty – and there’s some new residents there – never seen ducks in the fountains before! ๐
Day trip from Bordeaux to St Emilion
On one of the days during our summer trip we decided to go to a very lovely town of St Emilion near Bordeaux.
It is quite easy day trip from Bordeaux and you don’t even need a car to reach the place – it’s enough to jump on a train and you will be there in about 30 minutes! When there, you can either walk to the town or take a local shuttle (make sure to check out the schedule on the local tourist office website!).
Let’s go!
Weekend walk in Paris – Coulee Verte & Place de la Bastille
In one of the weekends we decided to walk on Coulee Verte – a raised walkway built on top of disused elevated walkway. The walk is really pretty, enjoyable and a great way to spend your weekend!
Let’s go!

Walk in Paris along canal St Martin to Bastille
Walk in Paris from Trocadero to the Statue of Liberty
How not to get your map chewed in Nara?
I’ve always wanted to go to Nara because of two reasons. While the first one was to see all the temples I’ve heard so much about (and I’ll write a separate post about them), it’s the second reason which I’d like to show today. Deer!

I was a bit worried before going to Nara that we’ll miss them, that the deer will be in a different part of the park, that I couldn’t approach them and couldn’t take any pictures. It turned out that the worries were absolutely groundless. And it is NOT POSSIBLE to miss the deer while in Nara Park. It’s rather opposite – deer will find you and you’ll need to feed them (or your map or your jacket will be chewed instead ๐
